Busters Suffer Twin Bill Loss

Dodge City, KS-Dodge City took game one of the four game series against Garden City winning 11-0 in five innings. Dodge City's two home home runs in the bottom of the third got the Congs going with a 4-0 lead that they would not relinquish.

The Congs would pick up six more runs in the bottom of the fourth to go ahead 11-0 ending the game in five innings. JJ Benes took the loss for Garden City. Benes falls to 6-2 on the year.

Despite two home runs and five RBI's for Catcher Francisco Alvarez Garden City failed to hold a 9-6 lead in the eighth inning and eventually fell to DCCC 14-10. Mason Brown also homered and tallied two RBI's on the day.

Patrick Mixon scored three runs and went 3-4 from the dish while Brooks Benson had an RBI, scored two runs and went 3-5.

Finnegan's Busters will regroup and look to take games three and four to stay in the hunt for the highly acclaimed Jayhawk West title. First pitch of the doubleheader tomorrow will be at 1:05 PM at Dodge City
