Buster Baseball Has Three Academic All Americans

    Three Garden City Community College Baseball Players earned Academic All-American Honors for the 2014-2015 school year. 

    Sophomore Triffon Tatarin was awarded the highest honor earning the superior academic acheivement award. The Outfielder from Alberta Canada had the highest grade point average on the Baseball team. As a Broncbuster, Tatarin saw action in 47 games over a two year span. He has chosen to end his baseball career to pursue a degree from the University of Arizona. He is seeking a degree in geoscience with an emphasis in Geology. Tatarin was also a distinguished member of Phi Thetta Kappa at GCCC.

    Tony Yacovetta and Tyler Franek also earned Academic All-American honors. Yacovetta was a mainstay in the Buster rotation and will be moving on to New Mexico State University. Yacovetta will eventually seek a degree in pre physical therapy. Franek has returned to Garden City for a 3rd season, after redshirting in 2013. In 2014 Franek logged 39.2 innings on the mound for the Busters. He is pursuing a business degree.
