Ryan Wilkinson will be entering his 3rd season as an assistant coach for the Garden City Community College baseball program. Ryan will handle the outfield play and serve as the hitting coach for the Busters.
Wilkinson played collegiately at Cowley County Community College.
Prior to arriving at Garden City, Wilkinson spent one season at Cloud County Community College. While at Cloud, he coached an All-Conference outfielder in Matt Bondarchuk who finished his freshman year with a .384 batting average, while also breaking numerous school records. In his first year as an assistant here at Garden City, Wilkinson helped mold designated hitter Corbin Truslow into an All-Conference and All-Region player. As a freshman, Truslow finished the year with 18 Home Runs and 75 RBI’s.
Wilkinson served as the hitting coach for the Rockford Rivets of the Northwoods League during the summer of 2017.
Ryan began his coaching career at Manhattan High School. Originally from Manhattan, KS, he was a three-year starter and all-state performer at Manhattan High School. He was also a 3-time letter winner in football and basketball.
In December of 2015, Wilkinson graduated from Kansas State University with Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology.
Ryan is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine.
