Tebo Finishes 4th to Pace the Busters
The Busters finished their first event of Jayhawk Conference play in 5th place out of seven teams. The Busters were led by freshmen, Skyler Tebo, with a two day total of even par, 144. They matched their first round total on day two with a 303 to move back one spot into 5th place behind Barton Community College. Hutchinson Community College backed up their day one mark of 291 with a second round score of 291 as well to take tournament title. The Blue Dragons finished 10 shots ahead of second place Dodge City Community College.
Skyler Tebo had another solid day in his Jayhawk Conference debut to finish in a tie for 4th place. Winning the first event of conference play was Dodge City's Zach Kirby with a two round total of 140. Kirby edged out Hutch's Dominic Lara by one stroke and Frazier Dawson also from Hutch by two strokes with tournament totals of 141 and 142 respectively. Tebo followed them with a 144 in addition to Matt Dickey's from Allen who also fired a two day total of 144.
"Overall, it wasn't what we were hoping for as a team, but it showed that we aren't too far off," said first year head coach Matt Zedrick. "There are plenty of positives to take away including Skyler's two rounds of even par. We have some small things to clean up before we compete again that should put us in a better position to compete with the top teams in conference."
The Men's Golf team will return to action at the Oklahoma Baptist University Spring Invite at John Conrad Golf Course, April 6-7.
