The Busters finished their last non-conference event in 12th place out of fifteen teams. The Busters were one of four junior colleges competing in the NAIA tournament. They finished one stroke higher than their first round total of 299 with a second day total of 300. This consistent play kept the Busters in their overnight position of 12th place at the conclusion of play. Number 2 ranked Oklahoma City University took the tournament crown with a two day total of 10 under par 566.
The Busters top two finishers were Nathan Forrest and Skyler Tebo with two day totals of 149. The tournament crown went to Southwestern Christian University's Carlos Ardila shooting a two day total of 137. Ardila finished one shot clear of Oklahoma City's Thomas Holtzman who finished the event with a tournament total of six under par 138.
"I think it's really great for our guys to get out and compete against some of these four year schools," said Buster Golf Coach Matt Zedrick. "Some of these players have a year or two more of college golf under their belt and it's good for our guys to see how they carry themselves during competition. We're scratching the surface right now of what we're capable of as a team, but we haven't had a day that we can count four solid scores. We are showing some improvement and just need to stay consistent in our daily approach and the results will take care of themselves."
The Busters return to play on Monday, April 13, 2015 in Lawrence, KS for the second event of Jayhawk Conference play at Alvamar Golf Course.
