Garden City Rodeo Day 1 Results

Garden City, KS-Garden City Community College hosted night one of their NIRA Rodeo on Friday night. In the morning session GCCC's Ean Price and his brother Ethan, Northwestern Oklahoma State, finished second in the team roping.

Below are results from the night session.

In the barrel racing night session Garden City native and Western Oklahoma State College's Jayme Flowers had the best score at 15.12. Just behind her was Roxanna Clawson from Fort Hays State at 15.16. Bacone College's Chaise Teehee was third at 15.27.

The night started with bareback. Oklahoma Panhandle State's Will Martin topped the night session with a score of 74. Jade Taton of OPSU came in second with a 69 and Russell Redden from Fort Scott had a 67.

In calf roping Northwest Oklahoma State's Sean Doherty topped the night session with a 10.9. Riley Wakefield from NWOSU came in second with an 11.1 and Larmie Warren from Northeastern Oklahoma was third with a 12.2.

In the break away Bridget Merrigan from OPSU topped the session with a 3.3. Southeastern Oklahoma's Hannah Gurrolla was second with a 12.3 and Alyssa Gabrielson from NWOSU came in third with a 12.7.

Fort Scott's Trenton Burd topped the saddle bronc night session with a 69. Sam Martin from OPSU and Brady Burton from Southwestern Oklahoma State both had a 64.

Tyrel Cline from SWOSU had the best steer wrestling time at 4.9. OPSU's Will Martin posted a 5.3, while Sam Goings had a 5.6.

NWOSU's had the best night time in the goat tie with a 7.9. Cheyenne Bartling from Oklahoma State came in second with an 8.5. SWOSU's Ricki Konze and OPSU's Sadie Latham both had a 9.3. GCCC's Kenzie Jones had a time of 9.7.

In team roping Taylor Munsel from NWOSU and Wyatt Rogers from SEOSU led the night group with a 12.7. Bailee Prom and Alyssa Gabrielson of NWOSU were second with a 13.2. Oklahoma State's Mikayla Phillips and Stephanie Dayton were third with a 16.2.

The final event of the night was bull riding. The cold weather and snow had the bulls more rowdy than usual. None of the 12 riders registered a score.

Night two is Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
