Busters Split to Open Season at Wesleyan

The Broncbusters jumped on Oklahoma Wesleyan JV early on its way to an 8-3 win on Friday at Bartlesville, OK in seven innings, scoring four runs in the first inning.

Denise Dentlinger racked up four RBIs on two hits for Broncbuster. She homered in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Rachel Roe got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed three runs over seven innings. Roe struck out six, walked six and gave up seven hits.

#30 was charged with the loss. She allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked four and struck out three.

Broncbuster tacked on another three runs in the fifth. Taylor Supino's double got things going, scoring Cheyenne Phelps. That was followed up by Dentlinger's double, plating Taylor Supino.

After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the fifth, Oklahoma Wesleyan JV faced just a 7-3 deficit. A passed ball, an RBI single by Erchler, and a fielder's choice set off Oklahoma Wesleyan JV rally. Finally, Roe got #5 to strike out to end the threat.

The Broncbusters came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 6-2 ballgame against Oklahoma Wesleyan JV on Friday at Bartlesville, OK.

Oklahoma Wesleyan JV took the lead in the fourth inning on a three-run double by Berunen.

Kelly got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed two runs over seven innings. Kelly struck out four, walked two and gave up two hits.

Oklahoma Wesleyan JV was sparked by Berunen and Bode, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.

Alexis Kantor ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed six runs in six innings, walked seven and struck out three.

Broncbuster jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second.

It didn't take long for Oklahoma Wesleyan JV to respond as it scored one run of its own in the second. Oklahoma Wesleyan JV scored on a groundout by Stockman.

Oklahoma Wesleyan JV didn't relinquish the lead after scoring four runs in the fourth inning when it scored on two doubles.
