Busters Out Hit Hesston Drop Two

Broncbuster lost 4-3 in seven innings at Hesston, KS on Friday, despite outhitting Hesston Community College seven to five.

Brooke Lovas reached base three times in the game for Broncbuster. She singled in the second inning.

Dakoda Lee recorded the win for Hesston Community College. She allowed three runs over seven innings. She struck out eight, walked six and surrendered seven hits.

Rachel Roe was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.

Broncbuster jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A single by Karissa Cardenas, bringing home Lovas and Liberty Nelson started the inning off.

It didn't take long for Hesston Community College to answer as it scored two runs of its own in the first. Hesston Community College scored on an RBI double by Kasee Tully and an RBI single by Makenna Grow.

The lead stayed with Hesston Community College after the second, when it scored one run on a sacrifice fly by Victoria Cortez.

Lovas reached base two times in the game for Broncbuster. She singled in the seventh inning.

Riley Hannemann got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed four runs over seven innings. Hannemann struck out 12, walked five and gave up seven hits.

Alexis Kantor took the loss for Broncbuster. She allowed six runs in six innings, walked two and struck out three.

The top of the first saw Broncbuster take an early lead, 1-0.

The lead stayed with Hesston Community College after the first, when it scored three runs on a sacrifice fly by Kendra Honeycutt and two singles.

After pushing across one run in the top of the sixth, Broncbuster faced just a 4-2 deficit. A groundout by Karissa Cardenas fueled Broncbuster's comeback. Finally, Hannemann induced an inning-ending from Jayde Wilson.

Hesston Community College survived Broncbuster's surge and put up two runs of its own in the sixth. Hesston Community College scored on an error and an error.

Two runs in the top of the seventh helped Broncbuster close its deficit to 6-4. An RBI single by Denise Dentlinger and an RBI single by Liberty Nelson set off Broncbuster rally. Hannemann got the last out, as Broncbuster's Mattie Miller.
