Busters Fall to Conqs

Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Barb Nigon could carry Broncbuster past Dodge City Community College at Dodge City, KS on Wednesday as Broncbuster suffered a 4-3 defeat.

Nigon was solid at the plate for Broncbuster. Nigon went 2-3 and scored two runs. She singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Nigon was a workhorse in the circle for Broncbuster. Nigon allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out one over six innings of work.

Trujillo recorded the win for Dodge City Community College. She allowed three runs over six innings. She struck out four, walked none and surrendered seven hits.

Nigon couldn't get it done on the rubber for Broncbuster, taking a loss.

Dodge City Community College stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring one run on a groundout by Kaitlyn Amaral.

After pushing across two runs in the top of the fifth, Broncbuster faced just a 4-2 deficit. A two-run single by Brooke Lovas fueled Broncbuster's comeback. But, Trujillo got Liberty Nelson to ground out to end the inning.

One run in the top of the seventh helped Broncbuster close its deficit to 4-3. An RBI single by Sidney Coleman set off Broncbuster rally. Lauren Kelley got the last out, as Broncbuster's Nelson.

Brooke Lovas went 2-4 at the plate, but Broncbuster fell 9-2 to Dodge City Community College at Dodge City, KS on Wednesday.

Jordan Mecham recorded the win for Dodge City Community College. She allowed two runs over four innings. Mecham struck out one, walked none and gave up seven hits.

Shelby Bowman, Lindsey Karlin and Danielle Aldana helped lead Dodge City Community College. They combined for seven hits and six RBIs.

Rachel Roe was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed nine runs in six innings, walked one and struck out four.

Dodge City Community College went up for good in the first, scoring nine runs on a two-run double by Aldana, a home run by Bowman, and three singles.

After pushing across one run in the top of the third, Broncbuster faced just a 9-1 deficit. An RBI single by Mattie Miller set off Broncbuster rally. Finally, Mecham got Denise Dentlinger to single to end the threat.

Broncbuster scored one run in the top of the fourth to cut its deficit to seven. A double by Lovas gave Broncbuster life. The Broncbuster threat came to an end when Mecham finally got Sidney Coleman to fly out.
