Busters and Grizzlies Split 2-2 On Year

Broncbuster outlasted Butler Community College on Monday after seven lead changes, squeaking out a 7-6 win at El Dorado, KS.

Broncbuster finally managed to grab the lead after a strong eighth inning. Broncbuster went up for good on an RBI single by Liberty Nelson off Jenny Hittinger, scoring Skyler Doughty. An RBI single by Nelson scored Doughty to give Broncbuster the lead for good.

 

Broncbuster was led by Cheyenne Phelps's hitting. Phelps went 3-4 and scored two runs. She singled in the fifth, seventh, and eighth innings.

 

Barb Nigon recorded the win for Broncbuster even though she allowed six runs over eight innings. Nigon struck out two, walked two and gave up 10 hits.

Hittinger took the loss for Butler Community College. She allowed seven runs in eight innings, walked none and struck out five.

In the top of the third, Broncbuster grabbed the early lead, 2-0. Broncbuster caught fire after Brooke Lovas singled. Then Nelson singled. The scoreboard lit up again for Broncbuster when Lovas scored.

Butler Community College quickly matched Broncbuster's strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the third. Butler Community College scored on a groundout by Megan Wurtz and an RBI single by Morgan Heckart.

Broncbuster matched its two-run fifth inning with two more in the seventh. In the fifth, Broncbuster scored on an error, bringing home Doughty.

Butler Community College brought home one run in the fifth inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the fifth, Butler Community College scored on an error, scoring Aujanae McCoy.

After a quick strike from Broncbuster, Butler Community College responded with two runs in the seventh. Butler Community College scored on an RBI single by Wurtz and an RBI single by Gracie Bogle.

Broncbuster fell 8-0 to Butler Community College at El Dorado, KS on Monday.

Kaelah McMullin got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She tossed five innings of shutout ball. McMullin struck out three, walked two and gave up one hit.

Ally KnoppMonica IslavaMegan Wurtz and Morgan Heckart helped lead Butler Community College. They combined for seven hits and eight RBIs.

Alexis Kantor was charged with the loss. She allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out one.

Butler Community College tacked on another four runs in the third. Wurtz kicked things off with a single, scoring Aujanae McCoy. That was followed up by Heckart's double, bringing home Wurtz.
