Busters Sweep Jayhawk West Leader Seward County at Tangeman

Broncbuster jumped out to an early lead on Seward County Community College and captured an 8-0 victory on Wednesday at Garden City, KS.

The game was decided quickly as Broncbuster exerted its will early with seven runs in the first three innings.

An RBI single by Mattie Miller and an error in the first inning and a walk by Miller during the second inning helped Broncbuster put some runs on the board early.

 

Brooke Lovas did her best to jumpstart the offense for Broncbuster, reaching base three times. She singled in the second inning.

 
 

Broncbuster's Rachel Roe kept Seward County Community College off the scoreboard for all six innings she was in the circle. She pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up six.

 

Alexa O'Brien was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed eight runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out five.

Broncbuster piled on four more runs in the bottom of the third. Jayde Wilsonsingled, plating Denise Dentlinger to start the inning. That was followed up byCheyenne Phelps's single, scoring Wilson.

Broncbuster added one more run in the bottom of the sixth. A single by Wilson ignited the offense,. That was followed up by Wilson's single.

Broncbuster beat Seward County Community College 3-0 in seven innings on Wednesday at Garden City, KS behind Liberty Nelson, who went 2-3.

She singled in the first and fifth innings.

 

Broncbuster's Barb Nigon kept Seward County Community College off the scoreboard for all seven innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on five hits while ringing up none.

 

Jaclyn Wagner was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed three runs.

The game's last lead went to Broncbuster thanks to a first inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on an error.

Broncbuster brought home one run in the third inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the third, Broncbuster scored on an RBI single by Mattie Miller, bringing home Brooke Lovas.
