Buster Softball Wins Game Two 8-5

Broncbuster outlasted Colby Community College on Monday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 8-5 win at Garden City, KS.

Broncbuster took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. A passed ball scored Karissa Cardenas to give Broncbuster the lead for good.

 

Broncbuster was led by Mattie Miller's hitting. Miller went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

 

Rachel Roe recorded the win for Broncbuster even though she allowed five runs over seven innings. She struck out seven, walked two and surrendered five hits.

Tanner Harvey couldn't get it done on the rubber for Colby Community College, taking a loss. She allowed seven runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out none.

Broncbuster jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The scoreboard lit up again for Broncbuster when Phelps scored on an error and Jankiewicz scored on a walk by Sidney Coleman.

Broncbuster scored one run in the second inning, and then followed it up with one more in the sixth. In the second, Broncbuster scored on an RBI double by Liberty Nelson, plating Brooke Lovas.

The lead was Broncbuster's to lose after fifth inning. More runs came home on an error and an RBI single by Lovas.

A tight game was decided in the seventh inning as Broncbuster fell to Colby Community College 8-6 in seven innings on Monday at Garden City, KS.

 

Brooke Lovas got on base three times in the game for Broncbuster. She scored one run and had two RBIs. She doubled in the sixth inning.

 

Abigail Martin got the win for Colby Community College. She allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings. Martin struck out none, walked none and gave up three hits.

Barb Nigon ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed eight runs in six innings, walked none and struck out one.

Colby Community College jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. A single by Sarah Churchwell, scoring Collette West started the inning off.

Colby Community College never surrendered the lead after the seventh inning, scoring two runs on two singles.
