Busters 30-25 Heading into Region VI Playoffs

Broncbuster jumped out to an early lead on Lamar Community College and captured a 20-0 victory on Saturday at Garden City, KS.

The game was decided quickly as Broncbuster exerted its will early with 13 runs in the first three innings.

A groundout by Karissa Cardenas, an RBI single by Cheyenne Phelps, a walk by Mattie Miller, and a two-run single by Erin Jankiewicz during the second inning supplied the early offense for Broncbuster.

 Liberty Nelson racked up six RBIs on three hits for Broncbuster. She doubled in the second and third innings and homered in the fourth inning.
 
 Broncbuster's Barb Nigon kept Lamar Community College off the scoreboard for all five innings she was in the circle. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out three.
 

Broncbuster easily handled Lamar Community College pitching as six hitters combined for 15 hits, 16 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

Alyissa Parson was charged with the loss. She allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out two.

Broncbuster tacked on another eight runs in the third. A sacrifice fly scored Cardenas to get Broncbuster on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Denise Dentlinger's double, plating Jayde Wilson and Brooke Lovas.

Broncbuster increased its lead with seven runs in the fourth. Nelson started the inning with a blast, scoring Lovas, Jankiewicz and Taylor Rothenberger. That was followed up by Cardenas' double, bringing home Sidney Coleman.

Three first-inning runs helped Broncbuster to a 5-2 win over Lamar Community College at Garden City, KS on Saturday.

Broncbuster scored in the first on a walk by Denise Dentlinger, a walk by Dentlinger, and a sacrifice fly by Erin Jankiewicz.

 

Cheyenne Phelps was hot from the plate for Broncbuster. Phelps went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the first, third, and sixth innings.

 
 Rachel Roe worked out of six tough spots for Broncbuster. She pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits. Roe faced her toughest moment in the seventh inning.
 Brittany Driscoll was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

After pushing across one run in the top of the sixth, Lamar Community College faced just a 3-1 deficit. An RBI double by Victoria Brooks gave Lamar Community College life. Finally, Roe got Driscoll to ground out to end the threat.

Broncbuster answered Lamar Community College's top inning with one run of its own in the sixth. Broncbuster scored on an RBI single by Phelps.

After pushing across one run in the top of the seventh, Lamar Community College faced just a 4-2 deficit. A groundout by Briana Medina-Martinezfueled Lamar Community College's comeback. Broncbuster closed the game out when Roe got Baylee Patterson to strike out.
