Busters Sweep Colby In Region VI Action

Liberty Nelson brought home the go-ahead run to give Broncbuster the lead in the seventh inning, as Broncbuster hung on to beat Colby Community College 4-3 on Tuesday.

With the score tied at three in the seventh inning, Nelson came to the plate and singled, plating Taylor Rothenberger.

 

Denise Dentlinger led Broncbuster's offensive threat, as she got on base two times in the game. She scored one run and had one RBI. She tripled in the first inning.

 

Barb Nigon got the win for Broncbuster. She allowed three runs over seven innings. She struck out two, walked none and surrendered six hits.

Mara Nash was charged with the loss. She lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed four runs.

The bottom of the first saw Broncbuster take an early lead, 2-0. A triple by Dentlinger, scoring Brooke Lovas started the inning off. Broncbuster then tacked on more runs when Dentlinger scored on a sacrifice fly by Mattie Miller.

Broncbuster scored one run in the fourth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the seventh. In the fourth, Broncbuster scored on an RBI double by Cheyenne Phelps, plating Sidney Coleman.

Denise Dentlinger had two extra base hits, sparking Broncbuster to a 9-4 victory in seven innings over Colby Community College on Tuesday.

She doubled in the second and fourth innings.

Rachel Roe got the win for Broncbuster. She allowed four runs over seven innings. She struck out four, walked two and surrendered nine hits.

Mara Nash took the loss for Colby Community College. She lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

The top of the first saw Colby Community College take an early lead, 2-0.Hannah Charlton singled to ignite Colby Community College's offense, beforeTanner Harvey tripled, scoring Charlton. Colby Community College added more runs when Harvey scored on an error.

The game's last lead went to Broncbuster thanks to a second inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on a two-run double by Dentlinger and an RBI single by Karissa Cardenas.

Broncbuster built upon its lead with three runs in the fifth. A error scored Jankiewicz for the inning's first run.

A one-run sixth inning helped bring Colby Community College within four. An RBI double by Rachel Van Gulick gave Colby Community College life. Roe ended the inning by getting Shelbie Day to ground out.

It didn't take long for Broncbuster to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the sixth. Broncbuster scored on a groundout by Liberty Nelson and a steal of home by Jankiewicz.

After pushing across one run in the top of the seventh, Colby Community College faced just a 9-4 deficit. An RBI single by Sarah Churchwell set off Colby Community College rally. The game went final when Tahnee Saxtonflew out.
