El Dorado, KS-Becky Gundy (Region VI Division I Softball Coach of The Year) takes her 34-26 Busters to the Region VI Championship Game defeating #1 Seed Butler Community College 4-3. Pitcher Barb Nigon picked up the win for Garden City.

In the top of the seventh with two outs and Garden City trailing 3-2 Nine Hole Batter Jayde Wilson singled up the middle. Brooke Lovas reached base when her fly ball was dropped by a Grizzly outfielder and Wilson advanced to third.

Cheyenne Phelps followed Lovas with an RBI single scoring Wilson to tie the game. 

Butler Community failed to score in the home inning of the seventh and the semfinal game went to extra innings.

In the top of the eighth with two outs Liberty Nelson was hit by a pitch. Sidney Coleman followed with an RBI double that put Garden City ahead 4-3. Butler Community grounded out for out one and two; and popped out for out three leaving a runner stranded on third and the Busters advanced to the Championship game.

The Busters will take on Barton County who defeated Garden City 3-1 last night. The Cougars and Busters split in regular season play at 2-2.
