Buster Softball Region VI Playoff Split

 

Seward County Community College wasn't able to come back from the big hole it dug itself into against Broncbuster, and Seward County Community College lost 6-4 to Broncbuster after falling behind by three runs in the fourth inning.

Seward County Community College scored two runs in the fifth on a solo home run by Tiffanie Bolanos and a single by Vanessa Oakden. Despite its efforts, Seward County Community College couldn't get over the hump.

Broncbuster was led by Brooke Lovas's hitting. Lovas went 3-4. She singled in the first, fourth, and sixth innings. 

Rachel Roe brought the heat against Seward County Community College during her outing. Seward County Community College managed just one hit off of Roe, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during her 1 2/3 innings of work.

Barb Nigon got the win for Broncbuster. She allowed four runs over 5 1/3 innings. She struck out one, walked none and surrendered six hits.

Alexa O'Brien was charged with the loss. She lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

Seward County Community College jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. A single by Oakden, plating Jaidyn Mawhinney started the inning off.

Broncbuster didn't relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the third inning when it scored on a three-run error.

Broncbuster added two more runs in the top of the fourth. Karissa Cardenaskicked things off with a double, bringing home Liberty Nelson. That was followed up by Jayde Wilson's single, plating Cardenas.

Barb Nigon held up her end of the bargain, but Nigon couldn't pilot Broncbuster past Barton County Community College as Broncbuster lost 3-1 in seven innings on Saturday.

Nigon had an impressive outing against Barton County Community College's lineup. Nigon held Barton County Community College hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Holly Posegate got the win for Barton County Community College. She allowed one run over seven innings. Posegate struck out none, walked two and gave up three hits.

Barton County Community College was sparked by Posegate and Brianna Ward, who teamed up for two hits and two RBIs.

Rachel Roe was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

The top of the first saw Barton County Community College take an early lead, 1-0. A solo home run by Ward started the inning off.

The lone run of the game for Broncbuster crossed the plate in the second inning on an RBI single by Jayde Wilson.

The game was never in doubt after the fourth, as Barton County Community College scored two runs on a solo home run by Posegate and a single byMcKenna Mauler.
