Pitchers had a tough day during the game between Broncbusters and Frank Phillips Community College, as the two teams put up 24 runs combined in a 16-8 Broncbusters win.
The teams totaled 24 hits, including seven extra base hits in the game.
Ten runs in the first three innings helped Broncbusters blow out Frank Phillips Community College. An RBI single by Tascha Holeman, a groundout byHailey Motherwell, and an error in the first inning and a single by Erin Jankiewicz, , and during the second inning fueled Broncbusters' offense early.
Jankiewicz racked up four RBIs on two hits for Broncbusters.
Even though Shaylene Shepherd allowed eight runs over four innings she still recorded the victory. She struck out six, walked one and surrendered 10 hits.
Sabina Branch was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed 16 runs in four innings, walked three and struck out none.
Two runs in the top of the third helped Frank Phillips Community College close its deficit to 6-3. An RBI double by Branch and an RBI single byJaelene Solano fueled Frank Phillips Community College's comeback. But, Shepherd got Cheyenne Housh to strike out to end the inning.
Broncbusters answered Frank Phillips Community College's top inning with four runs of its own in the third. Broncbusters scored on an error, an error, an RBI double by Holeman, and an error.
After a quick strike from Frank Phillips Community College, Broncbusters responded with six runs in the fourth. Broncbusters scored on an error, a three-run triple by Jankiewicz, an RBI single by Leisha Nakagawa, and an RBI single by Motherwell.
