Busters Improve to 7-1 in KJCCC Play

Great Bend, KS-Nick Salazars's Busters picked up their 7th conference win of the year with a 64-58 win over Barton County. Kavita Akula led the way with Buster going 6-8 from the arc to lead all scorers with 24. 

The Busters took their first lead of the game late in the 2nd quarter as the Busters took a 32-31 lead into halftime. The game featured seven lead changes and four ties. Barton scorched the nets in the first two quarters and outscored the Busters 16-10 in the third quarter.

Garden City heated up in the fourth quarter outscoring the Cougars 22-11. Shala Dobbins tossed in 16 points and KJCCC DI Women's Player of the Week Jaymie Bernbeck and teammate Dominique Maxwell combined for 16 points scoring 8 apiece.

Barton County (2-4, 10-7) was led by Kilee Harris with 16 points while Dominique Baker, Jalisa Jones and Megan Jirak combined for 33 points scoring 11 apiece.

Garden City is idle Saturday night and tipoff at 6:00pm Wednesday January, 20th against Dodge City. The Conquistadors are 4-3 in league and 14-3 overall. Dodge City lost to Hutchinson Wednesday night 90-48. The Conqs strap it up Saturday afternoon against Barton County. Tip is slated for 1pm.
