Busters Prevail in Sunday's Win

Garden City, KS-The Busters improved to 9-1 with a 71-55 win over Colby in Jayhawk play. The Busters got off to a fast start jumping out to 21-15 lead but got outscored in the second quarter 17-12 taking a one point lead into the half 33-32. The Busters would eventually take control outscoring the Trojans 38-23 in the second half.

The Busters were led by Shala Dobbins with 22 points followed by Goodard star Jenna Clasen with 16. Dominique Maxwell added 10. Donajsa Scott and Jaymie Bernbeck cleaned the boards combining for 19. Scott snagged 11 rebounds and Bernbeck cleared 8.

The Busters shot well in the first half at 57%. They were 12-21 from the field and 4-7 from the arc. Colby was led by Kyra Tucker with 14pts and Kenzie Curry dumped in 9. 

Garden City returns to action Wednesday when they travel to Seward County for a pivotal match in the league standings. The Saints are 7-3 in league and 14-5 overall. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00pm.
