4 Busters INK, Alatorre,Olivas, Rojas & Barr

Garden City, KS-Head Soccer Coach Charles Long has 4 players moving on to 4 year schools. Maria Paula Alatorre and Diana Olivas will both attend Bacone College of Oklahoma. Goalie Ashlie Rojas is headed to Sul Ross State and Katie Barr will play at Tiffin University of Ohio.

Alatorre is pleased where the team came from their freshman year. "We were in the hunt for the playoffs and just about got there. An improvement from the year before. Alatorre credits GCCC with the opportunity it provided her to move on. "I thought the doors were shut after high school. GCCC kept it open. I am thankful." 

Olivas will join Alatorre at Bacone. Olvias chose GCCC to continue her development as a player and student. Her best memory of GCCC; "I was nominated for all conference and winning the most valuable defensive player award."

Rojas chose GCCC because it offered her a scholarship and the ability to continue to play the sport she loves. Her greatest memory; "1st team all-conference my freshman year." Rojas stated, "My teammates pushed me to get better and now I believe I can play at the next level"

Katie Barr is from England and here best memory is receiving a red card for breaking a corner flag. "This is not a positive memory but I am never going to forget it." Barr credits Resident Director Christine Dillingham for her success along with her coaches and teammates.
