Hesston scores early; downs Garden City

Garden City, KS-The Broncbusters have been accustomed to slow starts in 2016.

On Saturday, they once again found themselves in an early hole.

Adele Hofer scored just a minute into the match before Mika Matsuda added a goal right before the half, as Hesston shutout Garden City 2-0 at Broncbuster Stadium.

"We have to find a way to get out quicker," Head Coach Charles Long said. "That's definitely been an issue."

But it wasn't like Garden City (2-4-1, 1-1) didn't have their chances.

The Broncbusters had 12 shots on goal, yet never could find the back of the net. Hesston's CAssidy Bontrager played a big part in that, blocking 11 Garden City attempts.

"We had our chances and didn't convert," Long added.

Garden City has lost three straight matches. Their back on the road Wednesday against Pratt.
