Broncbusters go 1-3 in New Mexico

Roswell, NM-Second-After an impressive debut at home vs. Butler last week, the Garden City volleyball team hit their first stumbling block of 2016. 

After dropping the Grizzlies in three frames on Wednesday, Garden City (2-3) would drop 10 out of their next 13 sets, including a 24-26, 16-25 and 18-25 to Eastern Arizona on the final day of the New Mexico Military Classic. 

"I thought we learned a lot," Matula said afterwards. "We have a lot to work on, and we know what we're going to do in practice in this week."

Shaney Tiumalu led the Broncbusters with five kills, while Ashley Webb had four. Bailey Martinez recorded 15 digs. 

Earlier that day, Garden City lost in four sets to Pima 18-25, 25-19, 24-26 and 22-25. 

On Friday, the Broncbusters split their two matches, breezing past Cedar Valley 25-19, 25-20 and 25-10; after losing to South Mountain 13-25, 12-25 and 19-25.

Garden City is back in action on Wednesday at Colby before returning home Friday to square off with Dodge City.
