Butler topples Garden City

Butler topples Garden City

El Dorado, KS-Back in August, the promise of a new season brought with it a dominating, three-set sweep of Butler on opening night.

But injuries have taken their toll, and that euphoria seems like a distant memory now.

Two months later, Butler returned the favor, sweeping Garden City 25-17, 25-23 and 25-14. It's the Broncbusters sixth straight loss and 21st in their last 23 matches. The loss dropped them to 4-22 overall and 1-11 in the Jayhawk.

"We came out and played pretty well in the first two sets," Head Coach Jacquelynne Matula said. "But we just fell apart in that final set."

Butler impvoed to 14-9 overall and 4-8 in the conference.

Megan Besecker led the Broncbusters with seven kills; Ashley Webb had six. Bailey Martinez added 25 digs.
