Becky (Holland) Gundy enters her seventh year as the Head Softball Coach at Garden City Community College. In her six years as head coach of the Lady Busters, Gundy led the team to a second place finish in 2013, and a third place finish in 2014 & 2015 in the Jayhawk West. The Lady Busters capped off the 2015 season as the Region 6 Runner-Up and placed three players on the All-Conference Team. Coach Gundy was honored as the 2015 Coach of the Year & picked up her 100th win as a head coach.
Gundy came to GCCC in 2012, after spending four years at Pratt Community College. She was the assistant coach for three years under Ron Hill before taking over as the head coach of the Lady Beavers in 2011. During her four years at PCC, Gundy helped lead the Beavers to a 114-99 record overall.
Prior to her time at Pratt, Gundy played collegiate softball at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK. During her time at NWOSU, she posted a 23-16 record in the circle for the Rangers and was named a second team All-Sooner Athletic Conference Player as a senior. Prior to her time at Northwestern, Gundy played in the Jayhawk at Seward County Community College. She was an all-conference selection both years at Seward and was twice named the NJCAA Pitcher of the Week. At Seward, Gundy was part of the first SCCC Softball team to win the Jayhawk West Conference Title in 2005 & was in the circle for back-to-back Region VI Titles in 2005 & 2006.
Gundy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Sports Science Education from NWOSU in 2008. A native of Sublette, KS, Becky is married to GCCC Assistant Baseball Coach Jay Gundy & they have a one daughter-Pacey, 3.
