Tyler, TX – The Garden City Community College Broncbusters wrapped up a four-game road series against Tyler Junior College over the weekend, facing a tough Apache squad in two games Saturday and two more Sunday at Brook Hill School and Mike Carter Field. Despite flashes of offense and strong individual performances, Garden City dropped all four contests in East Texas.
Game 1 (Saturday): Tyler 13, Garden City 3
Tyler used a series of big innings to pull away in the opener Saturday. The Apaches plated multiple runs in four different frames, capitalizing on timely extra-base hits and pressure on the bases.
Sean Togher provided the highlight for Garden City with a home run and two RBI. Cody Kilpatrick and David Young also drove in runs as the Broncbusters battled throughout. Tyler, however, collected 11 hits and drew eight walks to build separation and secure the 13–3 decision .
Game 2 (Saturday): Tyler 11, Garden City 1
In the second game Saturday, Tyler again struck early with a four-run first and never looked back.
Mason Tafoya recorded two hits, including a double, and Aiden Wilson added a hit and a walk, but Garden City was limited to three hits overall. Tyler's Landry Stamps homered and drove in two as the Apaches claimed the 11–1 win .
Game 3 (Sunday): Tyler 6, Garden City 1
Sunday's opener saw Garden City push across a run in the second inning behind an RBI from Will Togher. Karson Evans and Aiden Wilson each contributed hits as the Broncbusters totaled five hits on the afternoon.
Tyler answered with a three-run third and added insurance late to secure the 6–1 victory despite solid relief work from Corey Williams and Dominic Skjonsberg .
Game 4 (Sunday): Tyler 7, Garden City 1
In the finale, Sawyer Marshall reached base twice and scored the lone Garden City run, but Tyler's balanced attack proved difficult to contain.
The Apaches totaled eight hits and five walks, highlighted by a two-run home run from Anthony Martinez. Garden City's pitching staff combined for six strikeouts, but Tyler's steady offense sealed the 7–1 result to complete the sweep.
Across the four games, the Broncbusters showed competitiveness in stretches but faced a Tyler team that capitalized on big innings and extra-base power. The road stretch continues to provide valuable experience as Garden City looks to regroup heading into the next series.
Next Up: The Broncbusters return to Kansas for a road doubleheader against Butler Community College on Thursday, March 5. First pitch is set at McDonald Stadium in El Dorado, Kansas as Garden City looks to bounce back and get back in the win column.
