Garden City, KS-The nation is taking notice of the Broncbuster defense, which through three games has been as dominant as ever.
For the second straight week, a Garden City player earned national recognition after Exzavieus Roberson was named both the Jayhawk Conference and NJCAA defensive player of the week.
The freshman corner was sensational vs. Highland, returning an interception 57 yards to the house in the first half. He capped off his day by recovering a fumble in the end zone following Keylon Kennedy's spectacular chase down of Raequan Prince where the Fort Hays state transfer punched the ball free from behind and Roberson jumped on it in the end zone.
Roberson was part of a defensive effort that limited the Scotties to minus-12 rushing yards. In all, Garden City forced five turnovers, bringing their season total to nine through three weeks.
