Busters Close Fall Season at NJCAA National Preview
The Busters wrapped up the fall season last Friday at the NJCAA National Preview.
The team finished in 5th place at +5, 16 shots behind the winner and just 10 shots behind the runner up. It was a positive note to end the fall on by shooting -1 as a team in the final round! The tournament was shortened to 36 holes due to weather.
Ilan had another great finish, after starting slow in both rounds he turned it on down the stretch. In round 2 he was even through 16 holes before playing hole 2, a long par 5 where he went driver-driver, chipped in for eagle and parred his last hole to finish the day at -2(70) and shoot under par for the 5th round in a row at Sand Creek Station!
Miguel also had a solid tournament shooting -1(71) in round 2 which included 15 pars, 2 birdies, and 1 bogey. Round 2 was a different story for him as he made 11 pars, 4 birdies, 1 bogey, and 2 doubles to shoot +1(73). Round 2 for him was capped off by flagging a pitching wedge from 137yds for a tap in birdie on his final hole.
Theis also finished off his fall semester strong shooting -2(70) in round 2 after struggling on day 1.
Carson had a solid event after not being in the lineup much this fall he put together 2 solid rounds 77-74 and contributed to the team score in both rounds! Round 1 included 10 pars, 2 birdies, 5 bogeys, and 1 double bogey. Round 2 for him was very steady making 16 pars and 2 bogeys.
