Broncbusters Finish Seventh at Oakwood, Silveira Leads Final Round Push

ENID, OK — Garden City Community College closed out play at the Oakwood Invitational with a seventh-place team finish, carding a three-round total of 890 (309-295-286) against a competitive field that featured multiple nationally ranked programs.
The Broncbusters showed steady improvement throughout the event, turning in their best round of the tournament Tuesday with a 286 to move up one spot on the final leaderboard. Garden City finished ahead of Iowa Western and several four-year programs while competing against teams ranked as high as No. 1 and No. 5 in the nation.
Miguel Silveira paced the Broncbusters in the final round, firing a 3-under 68 to lead Garden City's charge up the standings. Silveira finished the tournament at 4-over overall, delivering one of the lowest rounds of the day in the field.
Ilan Dufrenoy added a consistent performance, closing with a 72 to finish at 9-over for the tournament. Theis Ottosen followed closely at 9-over as well, carding a 73 in the final round.
Miles Dickinson rounded out the team scoring with a 73 on Tuesday, finishing at 16-over, while Makian Maydew posted a 79 in the final round. Oliver Crowley, competing as an individual, finished at 11-over after a 75 in the final round.
As a team, Garden City shaved 23 strokes from its opening round score over the final two days, highlighting a strong late-tournament push heading into postseason play.
McLennan CC and Indian Hills CC shared the team title at 855, while Hutchinson CC placed third at 864.
