Dufrenoy Finishes Runner-Up, Broncbusters Take Second at Region 6 Championship

MANHATTAN, KS – Garden City Community College battled through three rounds at Colbert Hills Golf Course, finishing second at the NJCAA Region 6 Championship with a team score of +58.
The Broncbusters posted rounds of +26, +20 and +12, showing steady improvement across the tournament while securing a runner-up finish behind Hutchinson CC (+30). Garden City also placed three golfers inside the top 10, including a runner-up finish from Ilan Dufrenoy.
Garden City was led by Dufrenoy, who placed second individually at +5 (73-77-71). Dufrenoy closed with the low round of the tournament for the Broncbusters at 1-under 71 and totaled nine birdies and an eagle, pairing scoring ability with consistent par play throughout the event.
Oliver Crowley delivered one of the most complete performances for Garden City, finishing tied for fifth at +11 (78-76-73). Crowley recorded six birdies across the three rounds, highlighted by a strong final round 73 that featured multiple early birdies.
Miguel Silveira turned in a +16 finish (82-75-75), producing five birdies while stringing together steady play in rounds two and three.
Carson French added a +27 (82-80-81), totaling four birdies over the tournament, while Theis Ottosen finished at +42 (81-93-84), recording two birdies and an eagle across his three rounds.
Competing individually, Miles Dickinson posted a +31 (79-85-83), leading the individuals group with six birdies, while Makian Maydew (+53, 86-93-90) added four birdies and an eagle during the championship.
As a team, the Broncbusters combined for over 30 birdies and multiple eagles, while consistently piling up pars throughout the three-day event to remain firmly in second place from start to finish.
Next up: Garden City travels to the NJCAA Central District Championship at Tiffany Greens Golf Club in Kansas City, Missouri, on Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28.
