Broncbusters Fall Short in Rivalry Match, 4–3 at Dodge City

The Garden City Broncbusters men's soccer team battled back from an early deficit but ultimately came up just short, falling 4–3 to Dodge City Community College on Saturday in Dodge City.
First Half
Dodge City jumped out to a commanding early lead, scoring three times in the opening 25 minutes. Goals from Soma Kanazawa (1'), Keitu Mphomane (6'), and Francesco Pennacchio (24') made it 3–0 for the Conquistadors.
Garden City found life in the 29th minute when Jaime Carin (#17) scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Hugo Gomez (#24). But Dodge City answered five minutes later through Lihle Simelame, extending the halftime margin to 4–1
Second Half
The Broncbusters showed resilience after the break, clawing their way back into the match. Jose Toledo (#18) struck unassisted in the 50th minute, cutting the deficit to 4–2. Just over a minute later, Thomas Mututala (#4) added another off a feed from Jose Navarro (#11) to make it 4–3
Despite relentless pressure—outshooting Dodge City 22–19 and earning eight corner kicks—the Broncbusters couldn't find the equalizer, and the Conquistadors held on for the win.
