GARDEN CITY, Kan. — The Garden City Community College men's soccer team delivered one of its biggest wins of the season Wednesday night, upsetting No. 13-ranked Dodge City Community College with a 2–1 victory at Broncbuster Stadium.
The Broncbusters struck first in the 11th minute when Hugo Gomez calmly converted a penalty kick to give Garden City an early lead. Dodge City managed to equalize late in the first half, but Garden City's composure never wavered.
In the second half, Guilherme Nunez provided the game-winning moment — blasting a shot that hit the crossbar before following it up with a header into the back of the net, securing the decisive goal that sealed the victory for Garden City.
Goalkeeper Ilian Badji came up big with multiple saves, while Tesnim Makes and Thomas Mututala anchored a disciplined defensive effort that frustrated Dodge City's attack. Offensively, Garden City controlled the tempo and created consistent pressure throughout the match.
With the win, the Broncbusters improve to 9–3–2 overall and 3–3 in Jayhawk Conference play, marking one of the program's most impressive performances of the season.
