Garden City XC Competes in Lincoln
The Garden City CC Men and Women's cross country traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska to compete at the Woody/Dirksen XC Invitational Meet hosted by University of Nebraska-Lincoln & Nebraska Wesleyan University! This meet had schools in NCAA D1, D2, NAIA and NJCAA.
The women finished 11th out of 16 schools in the GOLD division & 15th out of 22 schools overall. Garden City CC was the top NJCAA finishing team edging out Iowa Central by only 3 points. Iowa Central is ranked 8th in the national. This was the first 5k of the season.
Runners consist of:
Meryeme Mai: placed 6th in the GOLD division and 12th overall, running a time of 18:12.62.
Reid Harvey-McKean: placed 31st in the GOLD division and 67th overall, running a time of 19:33.49.
Maritza Romero: placed 99th in the GOLD division and 156th overall, running a time of 21:14.84 (Collegiate debut).
Natalie Guevara: placed 106th in the GOLD division and 166th overall, running a time of 21:28.99 (Collegiate debut).
Jaquelyne Gonzalez: placed 123rd in the GOLD division and 185th overall, running a time of 22:02.12 (College debut).
Umahan Sahin: placed 126th in the GOLD division and 188th overall, running a time of 22:10.22.
Angelica Rangel: placed 138th in the GOLD division and 200th overall, running a time of 22:44.46 (Collegiate debut).
The men finished 6th out of 17 schools in the GOLD division & 10th out of 23 schools overall. Garden City CC was also the top NJCAA finishing team beating both Iowa Western CC (currently ranked #1 in the NJCAA) and Iowa Central CC (ranked 2nd NJCAA).
Thaddeaus Rotich: placed 8th in the GOLD division and 26th overall, running a time of 25:17.10.
Andreas Laursen: placed 39th in the GOLD division and 78th overall, running a time of 26:12.57
Marius Delchard: placed 45th in the GOLD division and 85th overall, running a time of 26:15.72 (personal best).
Daniel Aboagye: placed 55th in the GOLD division and 98th overall, running a time of 26:28.76.
Landen Leonard: placed 63rd in the GOLD division and 111th overall, running a time of 26:47.02.
Brayan Herrera-Ramirez: placed 99th in the GOLD division and 159th overall, running a time of 27:39.51 (collegiate debut).
Kyle Moore: placed 114th in the GOLD division and 174th overall, running a time of 27:50.66.
Damion Crow: placed 192nd in the GOLD division and 261st overall, running a time of 29:39.01 (collegiate debut).
Carson Schmidt: placed 217th in the GOLD division and 287th overall, running a time of 31:28.09.
William Wilson: placed 220th in the GOLD division and 291st overall, running a time of 32:06.52 (collegiate debut).
The Broncbusters will travel to Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 27th to compete at the Ted Castaneda XC open hosted by Colorado College.
