Manhattan, KS - The Rodeo Team competed at the Kansas State University Rodeo over the past weekend. The Men's Team finished in 10th place and the Women's Team were unable to qualify anyone to the Short Go and score any points.
Riggs Rotenberger and Braden Routier led the way by finishing in 11th place in the Long Go of Team Roping with an 11.0 second run. They had a fast run of 6.9 in the Short Go but unfortunately broke the barrier and took a 10 second penalty but still finished 4th in the round, and 4th in the Average.
Creek Williams also made the Short Go in the team roping with his partner Cutter Cain from SEOSU by finishing 12th in the Long Go with a 12.4 second run. They actually had a 7.4 second run but had to add a 5 second penalty for only one leg in the heel catch. They unfortunately took a No Time in the Short Go, and finished 12th place in the Average.
Brady Irvine had a 75 point score the Long Go of Saddle Bronc Riding to place 4th and went 79 points in the Short Go to win 2nd place in that round. He finished 4th in the average and managed to move up a spot in the Regional Standings in that event.
Jaytyn Hash made the Short Go in Tie Down roping with an 11.6 second run to win 7th place in the Long Go. He unfortunately took a no time in the Short Go, and finished 11th place in the average.
Although we scored the fewest amount of points over the weekend that we have at any rodeo thus far, we are still proud of this group of kids, and we will rebound for the win at the next rodeo in Fort Scott March 13-15.
