Broncbusters Place Second at Fort Scott Rodeo
Fort Scott, KS – Garden City Community College men's rodeo turned in a strong weekend performance at the Fort Scott Community College Rodeo, finishing second overall, while the women's team placed ninth.
The Broncbusters were led by a pair of event champions, as Rhett Robbins claimed the all-around average title in bull riding, placing second in the long go (75) before winning the short go (80). Jhett VanderHamm matched that success in tie-down roping, taking first in the short go (9.7) after a fourth-place finish in the long go (11.8) to secure the average title.
Brayden Betsworth (saddle bronc) finished fourth in the average, highlighted by rides of 78 (3rd) and 75 (6th), while Brady Irvine added a sixth-place average finish with a first-place ride of 79 in the long go. Creek Williams placed fifth in the average in team roping, posting a 6.4-second run in the long go, and Sheridan Bubel added points in both breakaway roping (7th average) and goat tying. Sidney Johnson rounded out the contributors with an 11th-place finish in the average in team roping.
