Broncbusters split the win at SWOSU Rodeo

Weatherford, OK - After battling it out for three days at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, the GCCC Men's Rodeo Team split the men's team championship with Fort Scott Community College with nine Broncbusters earning a collective 505 points in the Short Go.
Brady Irvine finished second in the average for saddle bronc. He tied for third in the Long Go with a 73 point ride and placed third in the Short Go with a 75 point ride.
Mark Halliday won fifth in the saddle bronc average with a 72 point ride in the Long Go and a 71 point ride in the Short Go, placing him fifth in both go rounds.
Brayden Betsworth also qualified for the short go in saddle bronc with a 65 point ride that placed him eighth in the Long Go; however, he scored no points in the Short Go.
In the bareback riding, Rhett Robins scored 61 points in the Long Go, placing him sixth. He turned in a 76 point ride in the Short Go to earn third, and this put him fifth in the average.
The Broncbusters did not let up in the timed events. Jhett Vander Hamm took third in the tie down roping average. He made a 10.1 second run in the Long Go to put him second before making an 11.3 second run in the Short Go to place fifth.
Braden Routier and Riggs Rotenberger both qualified for the Short Go in steer wrestling. Braden had a 7.3 second run to earn 12th in the Long Go and a 5.8 second run to place fourth in the Short Go. He finished seventh in the average. Riggs made a 6.0 second run to tie for ninth in the Long Go but did not place in the Short Go.
Jaytyn Hash and Jhett Vander Hamm made a 12.8 second run in the team roping to earn them 12th in the Long Go. They placed third in the Short Go with a 7.2 second run, earning them fourth in the average.
Nick Lovins made the Short Go in team roping with his partner Brandt O'Connor from SWOSU after making a 5.8 second run, winning them first in the Long Go. The pair took a no time in the Short Go, placing them sixth in the average.
As the spring season begins to wrap up, the GCCC Rodeo Team will make its next appearance at the Fort Hays State University rodeo from April 16-18, 2026, in Hays, Kansas.
