GCCC Rodeo fights through tough competition at Fort Hays State University

Hays, KS - The GCCC Rodeo Team traveled to Hays, Kansas, this past weekend to compete at the Fort Hays State University rodeo. The Men's Team took seventh place overall with 165 points and six athletes qualifying for the Short Go, while Sidney Johnson also qualified for the Short Go for the women's team.
Rhett Robbins took third in the average in bareback. He scored 82 points to take first in the Short Go after placing fifth in the Long Go with a 67 point ride.
In saddle bronc, Brady Irvine placed sixth in the average. He had a 60 point ride in the Long Go and an 85 point ride to tie for second in the Short Go. Mark Halliday also made a 60 point ride in the Long Go, but he did not score any points in the Short Go.
Maxx Richardson and Riggs Rotenberger both qualified for the Short Go in steer wrestling. Maxx made a 5.9 second run in the Long Go and a 7.0 second run in the Short Go, while Riggs had a 5.4 second Long Go run with a no time in the Short Go.
Jhett Vander Hamm made an 11.4 second run in the Long Go of the tie down roping; however, he did not place in the Short Go.
Representing GCCC Rodeo's Women's Team in the barrel racing, Sidney Johnson made an 18.17 second run Long Go and a 23.35 second run in the Short Go.
For the final rodeo of the spring season, the Broncbusters are heading to Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma, from April 23-25.
