Martinez named Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week

Garden City, KS-In High School, Micaela Martinez was a multi-sport athlete who excelled on both the basketball floor and the softball field. During her collegiate debut on Saturday, Martinez continued on where she left off during her senior year at Lubbock Cooper. 

Martinz clubbed a grand slam and knocked in six runs in Garden City's 12-10 loss to Trinidad State on Saturday, earning her Jayhawk Conference of the Week Honors. 

Her home run gave Garden City a 6-1 lead. She also added two runs scored. 

The Broncbusters are 1-1 and are back in action on Friday at Hutchinson.
