Garden City, KS-In his four years as the Head Coach, Nick Salazar has never gotten too high or too low.
So following his team's shocking loss to Northern New Mexico JV, there wasn't much feeling sorry for themselves.
"We had to move on," Salazar said. "We lost to a Mesa team last year that we should have beaten. Then we turned things around.
Salazar's team did the exact same thing on Saturday night.
Monica Barefield scored 22 points on 5-of-10 shooting, and the Broncbusters overcame 25 turnoverrs to beat Butler 70-69 at the Perryman Athletic Complex.
Down two with 11 seconds to play, Kavita Akula buried a 3-pointer to put Garden City on top for good. It was one of six triples on the night for the sophomore shaprshooter.
Dakota Vann and Nakylia Carter both had a dozen points in the Butler loss.
