Broncbusters Stay Perfect, Roll Past Northeastern JC at Seward Classic

Liberal, KS—The Garden City Community College women's basketball team continued their early-season surge, picking up a dominant 83–62 win over Northeastern Junior College on Saturday evening at the Seward County Classic.
Sophomore forward Sokhna Ndiaye once again led the way with 25 points, hitting 13-of-14 from the free-throw line while adding 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Deija Roberson turned in a breakout performance, pouring in 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting with 6 rebounds, helping the Broncbusters control the paint from start to finish.
After a 17–17 first quarter, Garden City broke the game wide open with a 27–7 run in the second, fueled by defensive pressure and transition buckets. The Busters forced 31 turnovers and turned them into 17 steals, including key swipes from London Turner, who filled the stat sheet with 5 assists, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Marshea Fisher provided a spark off the bench with 12 points and 6 rebounds, while Caryle Fortas contributed 8 points, 3 assists, and 4 steals to round out a balanced team effort. Garden City shot an impressive 91% from the free-throw line and 44% from the floor, maintaining control despite a late push from NJC in the fourth.
