EL DORADO, Kan. — The Garden City Community College women's soccer team showed grit and determination Saturday night but ultimately fell 3–0 on the road against Butler Community College.
The Broncbusters created early scoring opportunities, including quality looks from Wilma Nyberg, Tahlia Alvey, and Ariel Martinez, but couldn't find the back of the net despite controlling long stretches of play in the first half.
In goal, Isabelle Barsk once again delivered a strong performance with eight saves—several of them from point-blank range—to keep Garden City within reach. Defensively, Alessandra Tovar and Maddison Foster anchored a back line that stood tall against constant pressure, while Maria Galisteo and Angelica Gallo sparked the transition from defense to attack.
Even as the match wore on, Garden City's effort never wavered. The team continued to push forward, hitting the crossbar late in the game and showing the resilience that has defined their season.
The loss moves the Broncbusters to 9–3–2 overall and 4–3–1 in conference play, as they continue to hold strong in the Jayhawk standings.
