HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Garden City Community College women's soccer team couldn't replicate their early-season magic Wednesday night, falling 5–0 to No. 19-ranked Hutchinson Community College at the Salthawk Sports Complex. The loss evens the season series after Garden City made history earlier in the year with its first-ever win over Hutchinson.
The Blue Dragons jumped ahead early, scoring twice in the opening 15 minutes and taking a 4–0 lead into halftime. Despite the deficit, goalkeeper Millie D'Ath continued to impress — making several strong saves, including a diving stop on a first-half penalty kick to keep the match within reach.
Offensively, Angelica Gallo and Wilma Nyberg created scoring opportunities for the Broncbusters, while Alessandra Tovar and Smilla Åkesson anchored a defense that showed resilience against a relentless Hutchinson attack.
With the result, Garden City moves to 11–6–3 overall and 6–6–3 in Jayhawk Conference play, still securing the most wins in program history.
